There's practically 0 relationship, meaning that all of Australia's mammals had to have come from somewhere other than Asia, which marsupials all migrated from south America when it was connected to antarctica and arrived into the land down under. Most to all of the marsupials originally in south America got wiped out, which is why the only remainder of their legacy is a couple of Opossum species. Of course marsupials originally came from north America to south America when the two continents met, but that's a different story.
Going to Australia from Asia is almost impossible because once you arrive on its northern shore you're immediately met with an inhospitable and untraversible desert which spells certain death. Later humans practically never went there, in fact Melanesians and Paupau new Guineans, despite being peoples we group with Aboriginals, are actually extremely distantly related to them, they split like 40k years ago, which is an older split than the one between asians and Europeans, meaning that the New Guineans/Melanesians never even went south themselves after the split. Add this isolation to the harsh, unforgiving, alien, and just plain weird environment of Australia then Abbos are basically completely isolated. Seriously Melanesians/New Guineans are more closely related to the surrounding polynesian and SE Asians than they are to abbos, which betrays our surface perceptions of them obviously. Add onto that abbos carry about 2% of a highly divergent and isolated archaic human species found nowhere else in the world, not even in New Guineans/Melanesians, they basically don't count as an anatomically modern human.
