How does /sci/ feel about wildlife science? This field really feels like the forgotten stepchild of STEM.

I personally find it to be one of the most fun science fields because the data is so messy. There's no cushy lab to control conditions. R2 never surpasses 0.7. Ecological theory is fascinating, and doing actual wildlife research requires robust quantitative skills.

What's not to like?
