All the data in the mainstream says that omicron RIGHT NOW isn't a cause of concern yet because there is no significant evidence that it gives the typical corona symptoms, but rather it's akin to a cold regardless of vaccination status.

What are the long term implications of this being true? Will we not have to take booster shots if it becomes the dominant variant?
