>>13935342Its obvious that the creeping dumbing down of public education is irresistible. This gets worse every passing decade.
I am surprised we haven't seen a greater move towards traditional style charter schools. That is private schools run on a 1970's style of education and without any religious or special interest agenda. Basic standard amenities without unnecessary bells and whistles.
Obviously most middle class parents can not afford private education, but if they were to receive a tax rebate for enrolling their children in private education, rather than state education, then it becomes a far more viable option. The lack of lobbying for such a proposal is puzzling.
There already exists a model whereby through efficient use of assets a private school organizational can deliver deliver quality education at a price equalent to what it costs in tax dollars for the average household to send their children to a state school.
