Every time they run the money printer, they are devaluing the dollars in your bank account and making that lost value into new dollars which are in their possession. The don't really print new money, they steal some of yours. So the more they print, the richer they get and the poorer you get.
In communist totalitarian regimens they typically steal everything of value, every last penny, piece of property and morsel of food. At the end of it all the citizen-victims of the process are left with nothing to eat but each other.
