>>13930358Okay do it however you want. When I'm working on paper I always write quotients as dividend over divisor, or perhaps divisor over dividend to the power -1 if appropriate. Sequences of division I write as a sequence of quotients beside each other.
When I have mutliple steps of division I'm probably doing dimensional analysis and writing it like that lets you see how the units cancel out and collapses the expression to the quotient of two products which is easy to work with.
Sorry if that's unclear but typsetting math is not exactly easy on 4chan.
I see what you mean about the parentheses in the case of a quotient of products but anyway it's a matter of notation and not some underlying truth about aritmetic.
And yeah, I never use that division sign with the little dots either.
