the way i see it, there are 3 options
1. we really are on this rock because of a 1 in 1 billion fluke and there is nothing to discover (neutral ending, when we die nothing happens and we are at peace, or our consciousness redistributes in a manner we can't understand)
2. there is an intelligent designer and he is good (good ending, we all go to heaven or wake up from the simulation in 2450 and talk about how crazy it was)
3. there is an intelligent designer and he is bad (bad ending, we all go to hell or wake up as a brain in a vat and the scientist punches us for no reason before rerolling us into another sim)
all in all i find hell the least plausible, purely because why, so the odds are in our favour. that depends on if you think being in a sim is a horrifying truth. i personally find it quite comforting if we're npcs in a simulation, since at least i'd understand why i'm here.
