Wire Harness design is embarrassing

Should I be embarrassed to be employed as an "engineer" "designing" wire harnesses for aerospace vehicles? The "state of the art" includes tools and processes which were developed 50 years ago and every old-timer in the industry refuses to step into the digital age, preferring to "do it the way we've always done it". There's almost literally nothing analytical involved in these designs.

Should I quit? The absolute lack of rigor, documentation, and general intelligence most of the people who work in this field bring to their work is embarrassing and I don't want to be associated with this juvenile, impotent "engineering" work.
