Day/night cycles can be mostly like ours but with longer days and shorter nights if the rotation axis lies parallel to its axis of revolution around the center of mass. This would result in 2 equators and poles that are always day. If you let it “wobble” (precession) fast and strong enough, the poles can have day and night cycles too. Mind that the poles would only ever see a single sun, though.
If you let its intrinsic rotation axis go perpenicular to its revolution, the poles would peobably freeze/fry in winter/summer unless the planet revolves really fast, which would also probably tidally lock the planet pretty quick, so it doesn’t seem reasonable.
