>>13917228I've come to the conclusion that the guy in the link below is right. There really is an "aether" of virtual particles. These virtual particle pairs act as Cooper pairs in a superconductor. The "aether" or more aptly "medium" of the vacuum behaves as a perfect fluid, i.e. superfluid. Energy exchanges between these virtual particles are what gives rise to our conceptualization of an electromagnetic field. The transfer of energy is manifested as a photon. According to the guy in the link, inertia is potentially tied intrinsically to electromagnetic vector potential, with the photon as the exchange particle. We use can simulate this perfect fluid vacuum using BECs and fiddle with the relative permeability and permittivity of said medium to produce all sorts of fringe physical effects. The implication is that we the speed of light is really a hard limit; however, fiddling with the P & P can alter the goalposts to adjust the maximum propagation rate of photons so that the speed of light in the medium (i.e. vacuum) is artificially higher in that region of space.
It seems to be an interesting mix of string/superfluid vacuum/Fenyman-Wheeler Absorber Theory. For one reason or another, this resonates as true to me. But what the fuck do I know, I negotiate property insurance claims for a living. Thoughts?
