Trucks dtravel long distancesm and are big enough that the Hydrogen tank is not necessarily that eas at risk to explode during an accident.
Battery trucks would have several issues, since they' dhave to stop and charge quickly.
Honestly I think the best application of batteries in cars would be if they were exchangeable.
Like if your car battery is low, you just buy a new one at the gas station. (ofc you'd mostly only pay the price of the energy + a small fee to maintain the availability of batteries)
Replacing battery would happen through a device that is available at the gas station.
Issue is obviously that you'd need a standardized car design regarding batteries so the replacement works on every car.
