How do I know my IQ is high enough to be succesful in chip design? What's the best way to find out without wasting time and money on courses on the subject?

You just take the risk and as you fail you decide to double in and persevere. Some challenges just naturally need 15 years of non stop effort, you may think you are wasting your life for 14 years until you make it. Some challenges take longer than your lifetime, you just cant know.

IQ is literally meaningless outside of diagnosing psychiatric disorders.

You abilities in chip design do not correlate with IQ. Desu someone who scores less than 100 might struggle, but anyone who takes an IQ test and see's its just a game can easily do chip design.

We don't actively teach people logic because of IQ tests; you can learn how to ace an IQ test with not much practice at all, its just that this information is gate-kept so ignorant people like you believe some arbitrary number actually defines them.

What's the correct answer? That's all I can throw off the top of my head. I guess you can calculate J if you assume distance is zero, you'd still need n(x) and p(x) though

you could always get an FPGA dev board and set yourself some ambitious project. Don't give up if it's hard at first, but if after a year you don't feel like you're getting good, chip design probably isn't for you. It's more the autistic ability to hyper focus on logical systems than "IQ".

there is none, like there is no correct answer to Newtons second law or Maxwells equations. You have a system with boundary conditions you apply them, then likely find a solution numerically. this equation describes the current you'll expect from systems of doped semi-conductors. If you want to know more you just need to open a book on solid state physics, which is the primary tool to design semi-conductor devices.
