So I ran into this paper the other day:
https://www.pnas.org/content/118/17/e2022489118
Basically, what they've found is that psilocybin restores the hippocampus and produces rapid antidepressant effects even when the 5-HT2A receptors are blocked, meaning that it has therapeutic potential even without the hallucinations. In the study, they used ketanserin as their 5-HT2A antagonist. I don't have ketanserin, but I do have some trazodone; it should do the job getting rid of the hallucinations, but I'm not sure it won't affect some other receptors and interfere with the antidepressant effect. Does anyone know if trazodone would be suitable, or if there's anything better that I could acquire easily?
