I started looking into it. You’d be surprised how many people in the field are physicists. I emailed the CEO of one of the major companies in the field and he offered to zoom chat with me and discuss. He was a chill guy. I’d suggest looking up people you’re interested in working with, and if they happen to be physicists, just reach out to them about the fact that you have a shared background and are interested in the field. That worked for me. On the other hand I haven’t made the transition yet so who knows.
Where are you at in your studies by the way? If you’re at university you should just reach out to profs and see if you can work with them. The guy I talked to said when he was in academia, all the grad students in his lab were physicists because they could work with number well.
