Recognize that any blog regardless if they provide reputable sources is highly questionable because their personal assessment will compromise your view point before you read the source. Your mind is always searching for information to interpret even if you try to logical about it. Any personal take can alter your perspective on the data you receive especially if it is related to statistical analysis since statistics is already a form of interpretation on raw data sets.
It also stands to reason that any of the major news networks like CNN or Fox has heavy political slants making them all but useless. Save for urgent news on immediate events that hundreds of other independent sources also report on. They might be OK for computer science/ space related shit like Quantum Computing or Mars rover since there's little to gain politically on those subjects...yet.
