I wish I could be euthanized. I'm not particularly fond of this planet as it is. Being a scientist in 2021 is one of the least rewarding jobs that requires a PhD+ level education.

What COVID proved is that companies and politicians will selectively side with less scrupulous scientists and greatly reward them with fame and money.
It also proved doing honest science is a waste of time because the internet makes it not only likely, but basically guaranteed, that your paper will be drowned by noise and retarded QAnon conspiracies. The average retarded burgerdrone will believe anything their favorite pundit says on tv/podcasts/etc than a well done scatterplot and T-test, when it should be the other way.

Science has died a few years ago. What we have now is more akin to politics or other such crap. People that are following the scientific method without biases are a minority.

We could try your idea, but we could also try shooting anyone that doesn't have at least one published paper or filed patent.
