A pandemic lasts a few years and has a certain wave pattern, this is pretty clear. Vaccine can (literally) flatten the curves, letting it run wild will make the curves higher.
But the basic pattern can not be changed. I think it is very concerning that people think vaccines are the be-all-end-all solution instead of a tool, that makes it slightly better.
To put it like this:
If no one cared and put on a mask more people would die, but it wouldn't be that much. If every person would get three jabs, less people would die, but not that much less.
If you are 80 and have diabetes you will get fucked, if you are young and healthy you should not be concerned. Of course those are more rules of thumb, there are exceptions, but generally Covid19 isn't Ebola, it is more like a very very nasty flu.
