I have Long-COVID and brain fog is the most unbearable thing imaginable. I'm ok with my body slowly dying by whatever fucking aftermath is causing it, but brain fog makes living not possible.
To put it short, here are my brain fog symptoms:
>right side of my head/brain (under the eye, temple and forehead) basically feels dead with pressure 24/7
>sometimes I have a "tension headache" like feeling around my entire upper head, like a belt is strangling my head (tends to be afternoon/evening
>occasional pressure at the front of my forehead and eyes that tends to happen later in the afternoon/evening
>poor cognition (memory, concentration, spatial awareness, unable to multitask, etc)
There are theories as to whats causing Long-COVID brain fog, but considering how many extra symptoms come along with Long-COVID, I will only list the direct theories:
>abnormal blood cells found in the brain that are blocking other cells from functioning properly (oyxgen)
>microscopic brain damage indirectly through inflammation (triggered by COVID) or directly
>microscopic blood with trapped inflammation molecules
>narrowed blood vessels
>nervous system damage (direct or indirect by inflammation)
it seems some Long-COVID clinics are ending and most studies are overwhelmingly treatment based (around psychosomatic hypochondria) with the focus on mental which can either possibly indicate chemical altering. I would go with brain damage from lack of oxygen but many mild cases of COVID end up with Long-COVID brain fog, so this is unlikely.
Just seeing if anyone else might have an idea.
