I'm going into a Ph.D. in maths. I'm trying to find a good specialization but I can't decide between several different areas. I've read that model theory is very based and model theory applied to algebraic geometry is chad tier, but I'm also drawn to number theory and Langlands program. Differential topology is also intriguing, but I'm mostly drawn to finding a solution to the 4D smooth Poincare conjecture in that case. Any recommendations of hot areas that are based and chad?
