Who said I "trusted science"? It's just interesting to study and you can build stuff with it.
Although I'm not a flat earther. You don't need to trust a wall of text for that, you can just look at a boat disappear.

It is true. All science should be like 1st grade elementary.
You get to see a drawing of an apple, and you get told that this is what an apple is.
What do we need more, really? And this is also what /sci is about.
We, as opposed to normal educated people, have not in any way a need
to understand concepts in terms of how they are explained in detail.
The vague resemblance of something we have seen before is always enough.

that image retarded, its a specular reflection that causes the orange not diffuse light, specular reflections depend purely on the viewing angle not distance (the brightness depends on distance but the shape of the reflection doesnt)

Flat earthers just subscribe to radical skepticism, trust only your personal senses. Trusting science involves some level of extrapolation like believing gravity on experiments on earth also works on astronomical bodies like the sun. This assumption is all over physics, space isotropy, identical physics across all inertial frames, etc. Reasonable but unproven. The ultra skeptic wont believe anything is real.
