Hi, Im currently working on a short story as an entry point to a greater alternate history. I'm trying to write a small town where someone from the crown is investigating the outermost territories and one town is having troubles getting sick and theyre smaller and weaker on average then the ones that are elsewhere. The main plot of the story is the guy trying to figure out why, and the answer is going to be heavy metal poisoning from pitchblende leeching into the aquifer and the nearby lake.
