Anyone miss the variety in life that the humanities brought?

In college I hated having humanities as a graduation requirement when I was paying for my degree. Felt like it was a scam to get more of my money when I could've had the technical classes done in 3 years or less.

Now that I'm working its like the only stuff I do is engineering shit for business.

>"Customer wants an AI to predict when parts fail"
>"Show me plots of every problem the customer has had ever, connect to this API and get going"
>"After reviewing our budget, we can't afford to send you to the conference in person with social events, but we can get you a virtual ticket so you can still attend the technical sessions! Please write a report when its done"

I chose science as a career because I thought it was helpful to humanity in high school, but I also enjoyed making videos, learning languages, and acting in drama class. I feel like my value as a person has been reduced to what I can output for my employer.

Anyone else feel this way?
