>>13900211it is common knowledge that staring at screens or books 2 feet or less from your face all day makes you need glasses. you lose your ability to focus at distance. your eyes mechanically can't compress enough and with enough accuracy. glasses let you see farther while your eyes are mechanically in the same state as if you were looking at something only 2 feet or less away. thus now your eyes are effectively always focused on something 2 feet or less away and the problem gets worse. you get stronger glasses as a result and keep feeding the cycle.
i have mild myopia but I have seen minor improvements when I change my lifestyle to include more outdoor time and moved my screens further away and sometimes actively focus on more distant objects instead of staring at my screen unmoving. there are also moments where I have perfect vision but I can't seem to intentionally induce that state, it just happens sometimes, usually in the morning, and sometimes during a yawn. unless your lenses are fucked, your eyes can in fact focus at all distances, its just that the muscles and maybe the socket shape don't let you. I also find that the angle at which I hold my head affects my eyesight. I can see farther if I keep my head up, maybe because the socket isn't perfectly circular or because it changes the positions of some muscles. Fix your posture and exercise your eye muscles.
