>>13899695I sent a paper for review and got rejected because both reviewers thoughts my results were too good to be true despite the extensive statistical evidence, being able to reproduce the results at the literal push of a button and all the data of all stages being available to them (they didn't bother looking at anything and one even went on a tirade about the data not being public even though it obviously can't be public until after I get to go ahead).
So I tried to work up a multi-part publication starting with smaller steps in terms of outcome to familiarize those retards with the concepts better first, but that's taking shitloads of times because it's work that others do in teams of 5 and I'm forced to do it all alone.
I'm hoping to be done this year, then rebase the previous work on that one, then add a 'conclusion' type of work on top, but every other week another part of the roadmap breaks and I always feel like I'll never get anything done.
On the plus side I have 5 publications so far, including 2 as co-first-author from before I started my PhD.
None of that is worth anything though.
I could very easily publish my results in a workshop or a shitty journal, but in my country, the government has stopped all grants for white males (unironically, it is the law and it is literally on the government website), and all universities are also refusing post-doc appointments for white males for similar reasons. The last white (actually from africa) male to have gotten a grant in the country was 5 years ago and he had a >20 h-score before starting his PhD. He also couldn't find a post-doc in the country and had to leave. But his credentials are so monstrous that it's not like they're achievable in practice by anyone else. Thus unless I publish in top-tier publications so I can get the attention of foreign universities, I'm fucked.
