>>13895316Thankfully, my country seems to already be sick of this shit.
70% vaccinated and yet two times as many new cases a day as when we were 0% vaccinated, and yet there are practically no restrictions. I landed after a holiday in the US yesterday, my exams are continuing as normal (i.e. physical), I went to a large grocery store without bringing a mask without any questions. Nor did much of anything happen during the last spike, only a "hey guys, maybe start wearing those colorful masks again".
They're ready to die on the foothill of the vaxx, but baby steps I suppose. Nobody checks it either way. Even in the US, the few venues I went to which actually required me to present proof of vaccination barely checked it. They saw my name, the name of the vaccine and the big EU flag, and then checked the name against my passport, and that was it. Didn't even scan the QR code. Same with my flights there and back again. You could forge your way into pretty much anything under the circumstances.
I'm not hopeful they won't snap shut again if a new variant hits. All of the above is under the "delta normal", but if a spooky new variant does pretty much the same it might all get thrown out the window over the fear. But my spirit hasn't been broken quite yet.
