Vitamin C inhibits the production of melanin.

Does this mean consuming copious amounts of vitamin C could potentially make your eyes / hair lighter?
I'm aware there are two types of melanin - eumelanin and pheomelanin - and a lower E/P ratio predicts a lighter complexion. I think it would depend on whether Vitamin C inhibits one more than the other, and if so which.

I became interested in the nutritional and epigenetic components of appearance when I learned how many people had a much lighter complexion in their infancies.
