That's the whole point of education. Conditioning children into becoming good wage labor. If you've got a birth certificate, you are already owned by your government. The legal person, which is represented by your id card and needed when you want to transfer money, rent an appartment etc. is nothing more than a legal document stating that the government legally owns you.

This must be what someone who makes the statement "without discipline humans are nothing" must believe, considering there are no rational grounds for basing such a belief. How do you know humans are nothing without discipline? Do you have a source for that claim, or did your teachers just tell you that?

Not in my experience. I've never been physically restrained and forced to do something I didn't want to do since leaving school. Maybe I could be imprisoned by the government, but that would just be an extension of my schooling. And sure, unfortunate vicissitudes might change my situation for the worse, but nothing compares to the government ordained maltreatment I suffered at the hands of psychopathic schoolteachers during my formative years. And you've already affirmed your belief in the primacy of early life experience, if you think a persons humanity can be negated by racking disciprine.

The real problem is the education system instills superciliousness into the teacher's pets who made it out on top of the hierarchy, and inculcates unthinking golems like you with ideas that perpetuate and justify the abuse of future generations of people.

The difficult part is for people who are highly intelligent and need stimulation there’s almost no other path I feel. Where else can you find colleagues, resources and a somewhat academic environment (in the US) ? Not saying anyone worth their salt needs to finish college but there’s a reason the attempt is always made, its because the regular world is so starved for people with ideas or intelligence that whatever is left in universities is all you can find anymore. The justification for "restraining children" is that the children are mentally inferior, and need to be cared for even if they don't understand why.
Like how you have to restrain a dog, in order to bathe it or trim its nails.

I had to spend weeks in a mental institution because I walked away from school one day, and also because I was conversating with my friend in the hallway (a few weeks prior) about our elderly art teacher and said "yeah she's such a bitch she should just die already" and they deemed that a threat and called in the entire police department to scold me. Despite me stating numerous times it was not a threat, and it was not even directed at her. Due to these incidents I had to repeat senior year because of missed school and missed work.

Education only happens with the right books and experience.
It is indeed true that if you stray from the normal path of life (regular job, house) you are fucked beyond repair.
Plus, CS students and the whole "Tech" industry is an absolutely fraud. They are slaves to the entertainment industry of capitalism at all costs. Just look at these online communities and websites filled with garbage ads to lure children and consumers.
Ironic that we are on 4chan. Anyway, quitting here is also a good idea.

Yeah I know it is ironic haha, Im just here before I enroll again killing time. I listened to the advice and took my time before entering college and realized that the option was already made for me, we have nowhere to go and you can run all you want but when you work somewhere where you don’t belong you realize you cant live that way. Just going to do my best to find like minded individuals and facilitate an environment for actual ideas and free thought to be formed and my time is diminishing here thankfully.

I quit teaching because I couldn't deal with what bullies and psychopaths other teachers were. I had one girl who would rarely come to school, when she did I thanked her for coming and said it was good to see her in school etc and she came in for consecutive days (unheard of). Few days later a senior teacher comes into my classroom and berates her over incorrect uniform (top button undone), never seen again. Also enforcing covid rules like nazis as teachers were midwits.

They keep saying they are still "finding themselves"? Also lots of kids from the lower strata who were much less vocal and rebellious about letting go of the education system, most of them have a lucrative trade skill and families by now. They are okay in my book

Simple.

1) Stop forcing kids of any age to attend school.
2) Ban employers from asking about what degree you have. (This is a form of economic coercion to participate in gatekeeping institutions.). Essentially, educational status would become a protected class, like race or sex, on the basis of which it would be illegal for employers to discriminate.
3) To make up for the obvious downsides of step 2, enable employers to give any test they want to prospective employees. This includes paper tests, but also work samples and other tests of ability. Even if these tests result in e.g. racial disparities, they should be allowed.

If schools are the best way to prepare for these sorts of tests, people seeking employment will go to school. If there's a better and/or more affordable way to learn, e.g. the Internet or a library or something, people will use that instead. Our current system leans way too heavily on the credential, essentially giving universities and their predecessor institutions a monopoly on pedagogy.

The gorilla story

This story starts with a cage containing five gorillas and a large bunch of bananas hanging above some stairs in the center of the cage. I like teaching people stuff, I've spent a good portion of my time in university explaining things to classmates or people in the year below because I'm pretty bright, but I hate the idea of formally teaching because I hate the sort of rules that are usually involved.

sorry but this comes from intuition, something a religious drone like yourself wouldn't understand. Different cultures have different beliefs and approaches to discipline and these differences pretty much describe why the world is the way it is. Wars arent won by sheer body count or luck, culture isnt made without shared beliefs either. What disciplines a person ascribes to constitutes them, and thats why were on the science board of an anime website and not literally anywhere else. I bet the concept of respect is also really hard for someone like you, at least without throwing worship into it.

In the US, primary schools are glorified day care centers specifically designed to give mommy and daddy a full 8 hour workday to wage for Mr. Toilberg. Simply cutting down the hours from 7 to 3.5 would make a world of difference.

So I was forced, coerced, into Spanish class twice between two schools.

Well, where I live is only within a couple hundred miles or so of Quebec and Ontario. So French is useful if you work in warehousing/trucking, which I have.

I have also have vacationed to Quebec twice.

But we have to cater to south of the USA border hoppers.
Me, I also have a decent amount of French ancestry, where as you have to go back 500 years to even find anybody that's Spanish in my family. Real Spaniards. Not these Mestizos that LARP as "Latin".
