People keep saying or thinking that Aliens will look weird, but if they're made of carbon, drink water, and come from a planet similar to our own: I very much expect them to follow the same design conventions.
Look at how different Dinosaurs were taxonomy wise from the large Mammalian creatures that dominated during the Pleistocene and then think about how despite that you still see a lot of similarities in terms of, "well this is a large grazing herbivore with horns" "this is a large browsing herbivore with a long neck" "this is a small carnivore with a long face", etc..
I completely expect most alien animals n' so forth to be just earth animals with a different theme or coat of paint.
Marine organisms though might be a lot more uniform: crabs, fish, corals, etc.. Might be pretty universal across the cosmos due to water being water.
