You wouldn't call gravity broken just because it makes getting to space harder
Human beings are as they are
Malleable and "imperfect"
These are all necessary stages of development
Not because of some mystical cosmic plan but because that's how nature works
In the same way a child will fall while learning to walk
The child isn't broken before nor fixed after
They simply are what they are
You are unsatisfied because it could be better?
Good
If you want to now how to get from here to there ask why you're not actively contributing to it happening
Of course if you are actively contributing then the next scientific question is, is it working? And if not, why?
No matter the situation the answer cannot be "it's broken"
This is shorthand for "I don't know how to fix it because I won't accept reality"
The only way forward that will work is one which incorporates human failings, not one that tries to make a world model where they don't exist
Even if the ideal world we should aim for is one where they don't
We're not there yet and the process of getting there means using the resources as they are today
