I've listened to a few podcasts about longevity, most notably David Sinclair and Peter Attia.
Apparently, right now with proper nutrition and exercise you can lower your biological age by 15 years. In laboratory environment, they can "reset" the age of mouse's brain. They can make mouse age faster, on purpose. Human trials starts in 2 years. In other words, anti aging tech is possibly 10-20 years away. Essentially immortality.
You could reset your body age to 25 years old again and again.
How could this transfer into INTERSTELLAR TRAVEL?
No need for Multi generational ships. Could be just one generation of humans, travelling for hundreds of years or even millenia through the void of space, in quest for exploring and colonization of distant planets.
1. Whats your opinion on anti aging tech and space travel?
2. How many people do you think is optimal? 10? 30? 50? 300? 1000?
3. In case of traveling for centuries, what would be the social aspect of such endeavor? People would be interacting with each other for a very long time. Aside from chores to keep the ecosystem running, how would they spend time? Lets say 100 people travelling for 500 years. What kind of relationships would develop? What would they do in free time?
4. Is it technically possible to build an artificial ecosystem with recycling systems to last centuries? Of course ship has to be an rotating cylinder for gravity, with many redundancies, materials and machines to potentially build new systems if old ones fail.
