>>13886353OP I've thought on it a little more and have some lower level practical suggestions that should be easier to research.
If your goal is to just gain weight, any weight, then the easiest way to get there is to for real pound the carbs. Protein will not do it very fast, but keep a good balance. In my opinion this is really bad for your health, but take that however.
A keto diet (generally very high fat, moderate protein, very low carb, like <50g/day) is terrible for putting on muscle, but it might be worth looking at for a couple of weeks if you just can't get off your ass and lift. It'll give you a huge boost of energy to get your momentum going, and really easy to find information on.
A carnivore diet is pretty controversial, and there's not really enough hard research out there on it right now, but the macro balance is pretty good for muscle building, as long as you can eat enough. You could do a moderate version of it with dirty bulking or certain vegetables if it seems wrong, or you can try to make a similar balance with plant protein, but remember about the uptake issue. Most people on it who have reported anything seem to do pretty good, but you're not gonna pack on pounds as fast as carbs, and it really becomes a matter of how much you can make yourself eat. The energy level is generally better than on a carby diet, but not as high as on keto. You probably won't have any problem getting motivated to work out enough.
Just some trailheads to read into if you're interested. You have to lift, which is the important part, and somehow or another get enough calories from carbs or fat to fill out what's left after protein, whatever you decide to do.
