I want to separate quicklime (CaO) out of a powder. the powder consists of:
silica SiO2 45.5%
alumina Al2O3 24.0%
lime CaO 15.9%
iron(II) oxide FeO 5.9%
magnesia MgO 7.5%
titanium dioxide TiO2 0.6%
sodium oxide Na2O 0.6%

Alumina is extremely insoluble, so is silica especially at low pH's. If you give it a wash with low amounts of sodium Hydroxide you will dissolve the lime and cut out the two others mentioned. To seperate the rest you'd need something heavier duty most likely

Oh and how could I forget, magnet will sort out the Iron. And then you can precipitate out the Calcium as a carbonate leaving the Magnesium and <1%'s.
