Working class, blue collar, white americans literally have it the hardest in academia.
Minorities and Immigrants = Good.
Highly educate rich white people with generational wealth = Good.
Working class, blue collar whites = Bad.
That is what neoliberals think, including the vast majority of people you will run into in academia.
As I said, if you are against affirmative action, then you are a racist.
If you are against legacy admissions, then you are a conspiracy theorist.
If you in any way try to advocate for regular working class americans, then you're both a racist and a conspiracy theorist, and an enemy of both minorities/immigrants, and of rich white elites.
If it bothers you to hear this, that simply proves my point that any advocacy for non-woke policies to benefit the working class are absolutely unacceptable in neoliberal institutions like academia. The only two acceptable ideological values within a neoliberal institutional context might be described as something like "Woke Tokenism" and "Welfare for the Wealthy". To challenge the former is tantamount to racism. To challenge the latter is tantamount to an unhinged conspiracy. This is the institutional reality of neoliberalism.
