Here's the way I think about it. By switching on the lightbulb, you can receive information faster than the speed of light. There simply needs to be a person with another switch on the left side. Whether he has the switch on or off is information you will receive in an instant simply by turning your own switch., by looking at whether the bulb is on. This cannot happen, therefore Veritasium is wrong.

Yeah. The only way the lightbulb turns on in 1/c seconds is if the battery is inducing currents in the bulb. But if the battery is forcing current through the wire, it will take 1 second for the information to travel.

So either:
A) The battery is inducing current one meter away
B) Veratasium is wrong

do you really need the full connection for a current to run?
replace the mouse with a battery, or a capacitor which it essentially is even if crap one. the current runs, but will stop eventually (unless it starts sparking across) the area of the bite.
