what is the best way to take notes to learn more when studying? preferably a method conducive to self-study, because I learn mainly by reading textbooks.
on one hand, taking notes when reading a textbook feels redundant and slows me down since the info is right there, but on the other hand, the extra time spent reiterating the information on the page solidifies the information and adds to the understanding.
how do you take notes without it being largely a waste of time? is all note-taking when reading a waste of time or is there a way to do it that is worth the time investment? do smart people just not take notes when reading?
