>>13877241The rabies vaccine is for those that have been exposed to bats or strangely-behaving mammals recently, or are planning to enter an area where contact is likely (bat dens). Unless you hang around caves or were recently bitten, you don't need a rabies vaccine right now. Tetanus, though, you should get every ten years if you intend to do any kind of activity where you could bleed in contact with (in particular) rich soil.
As an aside, rabies is the closest thing we have to a zombie disease. Infectious saliva, a severe repulsion to water to encourage thick saliva, slow brain death promoting biting and aggression, the works. Like Tetanus, once symptoms start, your fate is sealed, though the death rate for Tetanus is "only" between 10 and 60 percent, compared to ~100 percent for rabies. If you see animals behaving like these, call both your local animal control and your state's DNR (or equivalent wildlife service). That, or put it down yourself. Shit doesn't fuck around.
