I know a few engineers who give me a lot of shit for becoming a scientist. I'm a PhD chemist (inorganic), and they shit they give me is about not getting an eng*neering degree and starting some $300k job at 22 like all of them.

I went into pure science because I thought that becoming a PhD scientist would be a fulfilling and interesting path in life, and I still think it is/will be and while I don't know if they mean it with malice, their comments are starting to get to me. Has anybody else encountered similar shit?
