You're talking about an electric/plasma universe cosmology, and the ancient societies would build their structure pointing towards the center of mars who was floating between saturn and venus fixed in the sky etc. And they'd draw the pictures which were representations of how the plasma discharge looked as the planets were swaying in space. But how does this work on a spherical earth? If the planets were visible as they are said from one side of the planet, fixed in the middle of the sky, then the other side of the earth would be in perpetual night and would never see saturn, venus, and mars floating above like that. And if the earth rotated, then the planets wouldn't be fixed in the middle of the sky.
