Can someone please educate me on something about statistics? I'm kindof retarded.
I made a post for a uni assignment regarding sample sizes and proportions in a Stats class. In it I basically said that if you're surveying something based on different groups like races, the ratio of each group surveyed does not have to reflect the ratio of the group in the population.
In my post I used the example that Asians make up approximately 6% of people in America yet in the study I was citing, Asians were over 20% of the sample. I said that this difference did not matter because the number of each race in the survey was over 200 so the results were accurate.
The professor said I was completely wrong but didn't really explain why and I flunked the class because I hate statistics.
