Introduce them to image and then text books (do some research into when it’s appropriate to do so). Toys, games and puzzles are very important too (specifically talking about toys and games designed in a way that lets them explore and figure things out on their own)

Let the child come into contact with the world on their own sometimes, in the sense that you should let them experiment and explore a lot.
Be a kind and understanding parent and respect the phases of their development. Don’t beat them. Talk with them, even if you think they don’t understand you. Don’t lose your patience over the mistakes they make, don’t be mean but don’t spoil them either. Do lots of research into children’s development and parenting.
