Dog sperm + human egg, does it fertilize even for a minute?

Gf says she has heard that for a very short time her egg is able to be fertilized but it dies being unable to grow further.

So chimerism doesn't work like op said, but it does work surprisingly well when done right. Take two zygotes of different species, blend them together and then take them to term, congrats you now have a dogperson.

The result can be quite cool but it wont breed true.

It happens naturally all the time, you may be one and not even know it, kinda the opposite of identical twins, two fraternal twins become one person. But we've found out that we can induce it in a lab and mix different unrelated species.

No, you need a fertilized dog egg and blend it with a fertilized human egg. Outside of extensive genetic editing this is the only way. May be different if you wanted to try with Chimps or bonobos.
