You're still thinking in college terms. You do not know how this industry works beyond what people on this board tell you.
I'll give you a hint- If you're extremely well qualified at anything that there aren't an over abundance of people good at, you become valuable to the people you're generating revenue for. They are not going to want to work you more than the minimum necessary for you to say "I'm comfortable here and will continue working at this company."
Now the lab techs, facilities, QC? Yeah they treat them like shit because they figure they'll either find some other job or accept their fate. But you probably don't know the terms since you don't know anything shit the industry.
