F = ma, I think;
negative acceleration will reduce the initial velocity.
If I'm thinking about this right it's something like a linear equation of the form Ax + B where A is the negative acceleration and B is the initial velocity so you set it to zero and solve for the independent variable which signifies time.
Unit don't exist in math, so they're just going to be these retarded coefficients in front of different things.
