OK nerds. If the tides are caused by the Moon's gravity how come I don't see any movement in buckets of water? The surface is always perfectly flat relative to the Earth. Shouldn't it tilt in the direction of the moon a little?

I know the ocean is a lot bigger but that shouldn't matter. If you ignore air resistance all objects fall towards Earth at the same speed regardless of size and mass. The Moon's pull should act the same way right?
