Are any major papers/developments missing?

How are you keeping track of the latest progress if you do? Why isn't science (like this, not just covid & spaceflight) being covered in common newscasts on TV and in paper-newspapers?

What do you think of current scientometrics and ways research is evaluated, selected/popularized and incentivized? This also relates to patents and I doubt current ways are anywhere near any proper optima.
