Originally, science started by questioning past knowledge, but by now it has degraded into an authoritative source of truth, that osn't allowed to be questioned, and no more genuine progress can be made.
Please note that I don't mean it as a hyperbole, but possibly how religions actually began. Maybe one day, all the science of today will be summarized into one book, that will be declared holy, despite being based on a complete misunderstanding of what science is about, and what it actually said, people wil see major scientific figures as something as prophets or apostles, andmemorize "mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell" in original, heavily mispronounced English, that nobody realy understands anymore, so that they could shout it in religious extasy on ceremonies around statues resembling microscopes, and have zero understanding of what any of it means, what they are soing, or where it came from.
