Solar sunshades have the following problems as I see it: they don't reduce CO2, so they don't reverse the acidification of the oceans. But more significantly, they give the whole earth a thermostat to fight over. You thought arguing with women about the thermostat in your house or office was bad? Have fun arguing about the whole planet's thermostat.
However, if we're really talking about whole cities being submerged and countries of people being displaced, drastic measures like a solar sunshade seem warranted.
