How do I undo my laziness throughout my public schooling years?
I don't even remember the periodic table.
How do I become /sci/ literate like everyone else so I don't get called out for being a retard?
Books? Videos? Anything?
Where should I start? Should I grab one of those national textbook surpluses?

If you want to read textbooks I'd say just find a syllabus for a relevant class from a uni, doesn't matter which as it's common for them to have that stuff publicly available. Get the textbook it says and follow the order of the chapters. You should however have a good reason for doing this, if you just want to keep up with discussions you're probably better off with videos and books that are more succinct.

Assuming you got through highschool stuff alright, freshman level uni stuff isn't much of a step up IMO. Important to consider what >>13860657 said though, if you don't have a good use for all this knowledge it won't do you much good to learn it. Moreso than just reading textbooks you may want to more fully immerse yourself in the topics: podcasts, books, videos, papers when you're ready and keeping up with interesting fields. On that thing, twitter is pretty useful for that despite the fact that it otherwise sucks.

Idk but calculus and physics have helped me look at the world in a new perspective. In calc three rn and it's like woah. Physics for sure a must have if you wanna learn about how the world works. Idk though I'm still in high school yes I'm 18
