The Japanese are definitely way above the chinese. When I study geometry and algebra I always see japanese names, and very rarely chinese ones. The only chinese names that come to mind are Yau, Chern and Wu.

Lol so you think Korea and Japan have made more contributions to science than Russia? Russians and then Soviets were extremely influential in 19th and 20th century mathematics. They were also fairly prominent in biology.
Japanese at least have some contribution in math and biology, as well. However, the Koreans have not done nearly as much.
