>>13858492>we're using LESS land for agriculture than we used to,We're importing more, especially UK. Including animal feed which is hidden in the food trade balance statistics, but I'm not really talking about Europe anyway which is very efficient. There is room for more efficiencies (especially if people accept eating defective produce instead of turning it into feed etc.), but not much.
Anyway Europe is fucking tiny, Germany is literally smaller than a single Chinese province. It's importance is vastly overstated in world affairs and I don't want to get into that now.
> much of it returning to pastures or not being used at all AND a substantial portion of the land we do use is used for that retarded biofuel scamThe biofuel scam is not that big in Europe compared to USA, Israel and third world countries, but it definitely is a huge problem (and btw, the main reason they actually want you to stop eating meat which relies a lot of the same type of land that is used to farm grass for cattle feed).
Europe's looks nice sure, and it's sustainable at the current population, but the third world is the real problem. The deforestation in the last 30 years is way beyond human comprehension and the population momentum is already causing extreme inflation on staple foods even before covid. Most African and Asian countries with billions of people are net food IMPORTERS now. On top of that they want to force millions of those 5 billion people into first world countries which will destroy the last few net food exporting sustainable nations.
Shit is really grim, we will be able to keep growing only at the expense of killing off every other mammal left on the planet while also destroying the last safe sources of ecosystem saving reserves.
